Domestic abuse experienced by
women is an enormous problem within the
Bradford Women’s Aid was set up as a grassroots organisation by local
women activists determined to provide help for women experiencing domestic
violence.
The project started off with a small refuge but now well into its 21st
year provides services for 300 women and children each year through the
provision of refuge, resettlement, and outreach services.
Bradford Women’s Aid is an organisation with a feminist ethos and
is looking for people with skills in voluntary sector management and
accounting to complement an expanding and developing Management Committee.
At present membership is open to women only. Any woman needing support can
contact Outreach on 01274 666241.
