About Bradford Women's Aid...
Background to Bradford Women’s Aid
Bradford Women’s Aid (Charity No 10099351 / Company No 4802152) was set up in 1985
to provide refuge accommodation for women and children experiencing domestic violence.
The refuge provides supported accommodation for 6 women and their children. It
is staffed by a Refuge Team Leader and 2 part time Refuge Workers including an one
Asian Refuge Worker who provides language and cultural support for Asian women and
2 full time Children’s Workers. An On Call Service is provided for outside office
hours. The Resettlement Service (established in 2001) provides support for women
and children who are moving out of refuge or other accommodation into their own tenancies.
This service is offered for up to 2 years depending on need. The service is staffed
by a Resettlement Team Leader, 3 part time Resettlement Workers including 2 Asian
Resettlement Workers and a children’s Resettlement Worker. The Outreach Service (established
in 1998) provides community based support for women in Bradford who are experiencing
domestic violence. This service is staffed by an Outreach Team Leader, a full time
Asian Outreach Worker and both a full time and a part-

Bradford Women’s Aid is a feminist organisation which provides refuge accommodation, resettlement and outreach services for women who have experienced domestic abuse with or without children.
Aims
Bradford Women’s Aid aims:
To provide refuge accommodation, support, assistance and information for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Safe and secure accommodation is provided with the necessary support so that women are enabled to make independent decisions for themselves and their children about their lives with the aim of moving on from their experience of domestic abuse.
